Fishwicks is a family company, established in 1967.

The business was developed by John and Valerie Fishwick and then, more recently, by their two daughters, Jayne and Kate.

Fishwicks Funeral Services, based at Beetham near Milnthorpe, is the hub but Fishwicks also have Chapels of Rest in Kendal and in Bowness-on-Windermere and family members operate both the Beetham Hall Crematorium in South Cumbria and the Eden Valley Crematorium at Temple Sowerby further north.

Eden Valley Crematorium offers the calm and quiet and also the accessibility and facilities that bereaved families are looking for. We took on the site in 2019 and, after an investment in new buildings and thorough renovations, we opened Eden Valley Crematorium in 2021. Since then, many families have appreciated the very special nature of our location and landscape and we have developed partnerships with a number of funeral directors across Cumbria and over into County Durham and the North East.
Our team
The experienced team at Eden Valley Crematorium offers both attended cremations (with a service in our 160-seat Chapel) and also unattended or direct cremations where no one from the family is present. These have become more common in recent years and are often organised alongside wakes or other gatherings elsewhere or at different times. We offer two core prices – a service and cremation from £975.00 and an unattended or direct cremation (with no service) from £550.00. Our team is happy to discuss all aspects of a cremation with you direct or with your funeral director and to offer clear pricing at every stage.
